The Man Who Could Fly

On a cool night in Mexico City at the 1968 Olympic Games, Olympic Gold Medalist. Bob Beamon hit the board and set an Olympic record of 29 ft. 2 ½ inches. The Man Who Could Fly, Mr. Beamon still holds the Olympic record today! When Bob was looking for a unique way to recognize sponsors and winners of his charity golf tournament, he turned to Winner's Award Group for help. Taking a 5 X 7 black and white photo of his Olympic jump, Winner's Award Group turned a small grainy black and white image into a work of art World renown artist, Mr. Bill Waugh,was able to convert the small photo into an 11 X 15 black and white charcoal drawing.

That painting was then reproduced, and personally autographed by Mr. Beamon. The signed piece was then matted and framed with a personalized brass plate underneath recognizing the sponsor or winner. Now sponsors of his golf tournament actually leaves with a piece of history. When this piece is hung in a home or office, it allows the participant or sponsor to explain the world record jump to anyone who asks. This becomes a special gift that gives the recipient a piece of sports history and is a constant reminder of the charity event they played in. A Famous Landmark on Dafuskee Island

If you ever have the chance to take a ferry over to Dafuskee Island in South Carolina, make sure you bring your golf clubs! Nestled on a private Island near Hilton Head, South Carolina, you will find one of the nicest golf courses called Haig Point. The golf course winds around a portion of the island and when you approach it by boat; you can see a famous landmark on the island which is a historic lighthouse. The director of golf on the island asked Winner's Award Group to come up with a new trophy utilizing photos of the famous lighthouse. After getting photos and drawings from the course, Winner's Award Group was able to send the drawings to their manufacturer in the Far East. A computer program was then written which produced an amazing three dimensional etching of the lighthouse inside a solid piece of crystal. The finished etchings were then mounted on black bases with the event information engraved on the side. These laser etched pieces of crystal use the same laser technology that is used in operating rooms. The laser cuts the crystal and creates a three dimensional replica of the landmark or clubhouse. He Shoots, And... He Scores!!!

So what do you give an NHL rookie who scores his first goal in the NHL?  A custom plaque from Winners Award Group. That's right, when the Florida Panthers were looking for something special to commemorate their rookies' first goals in the National Hockey League they immediately called Winner's Award Group for some new and exciting ideas. After visiting our website they recognized a modern looking silver plaque that they were interested in. Within a few hours Winner's Award Group's graphic artists had created a virtual sample of a plaque and game photo of the player complete with information on the player, time of the goal, date and who he scored against. One week later they sent us the puck, and another week later they had the finished product. Now thanks to Winner's Award Group, Panther rookies have a lasting memento of their first goal, in fact the Panthers even order them for  any player who scores a hat trick.

The PGA Hall of Fame

The PGA of America was searching for a company that could produce a matching ring and money clip set for their inaugural Hall of Fame inductions. In addition they even wanted a plaque that the inductee could hang in their home or office. Winner's Award Group was one of the only companies that could provide all three items for the same event. After sending the logo of the PGA to Asia for a custom medallion that would be used inside the plaque, Winner's Award Group immediately submitted artist's drawings showing artwork of the ring, money clip and plaque. Once approved molds were made of the ring and money clip and initials and personalization were added when the inductees were finally identified. Today, when a golf professional receives the highest honor of their career, Winner's Award Group continues to deliver the ring, money clip and plaque.
